Vets fighting for Vets
Anita Adams, treatment nurse for Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a Vietnam Era Veteran and an LPN who has practiced her profession for 32 years. She serves as secretary for her local Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 962, Columbus county and is a life time member. She is also a member of local chapter 35 of the Disabled American Veterans and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars ladies auxiliary. She was appointed by the NC Vietnam Veterans state president to the position of Chairperson of NC Vietnam Women and currently serves in that position.
Her veterans groups sponsor annual fund raisers. They support local food banks, and assist veterans and their families in time of need.
Going above and beyond, after working in our facility all day, Adams finds time to volunteer with the RSVP program through Southeastern Community College. The group works with a variety of programs for the elderly in Columbus County.
We are proud to call Adams one of our own.
